Efficient operation of continuous reheating furnaces and quality of the final product are often affected by time-unequal material charging into the furnace. Improvements can be expected, if effective heat control correction methods are applied for optimizing selected criteria of material heating quality. Methods of calculation of heating optimization problems assume calculation of temperature courses in the heated material at different variants of heating control. However, this is possible only using mathematical heating models, which calculation is usually time-consuming and thus for on-line calculations practically inapplicable. This article aims to assess the possibility of using correction of heating in continuous reheating furnaces with exploitation of simplified models working online, aiming to achieve required values of the surface temperature of the heated material and degree of temperature equalization over the section.
