This article addresses the main contributors to achieve supply chain efficiency. From the point of view of supply chain smart optimization it is important to develop a frame-work that identifies important trade-offs between production, storage, vendors and distribution, with a purpose to develop a solvable optimization problem. In order to control the most impacting factors is essential to name and expertly evaluate them. The aim of this paper is to decompose the capabilities and describe the iteration between each of them. As main soft influencers factors will be considered and based on the global sources identified supply chain visibility, collaboration, adaptability, agility, organization and security. Those will be proposed as characteristics and measurements of competitive Smart Supply Chain. It emphasises effective information flow, increased supply chain reactivity and flexibility.
