An important factor that influences in the steel quality is its purity. Steel contamination with excessive quantity of inclusions can be a major cause, leading to the development of the degradation process and product devaluation. An absolute necessity to ensure the required purity is also maintaining the correct technology, including the elimination of defects on the device during the manufacturing process. In this work, based on metallographic and electron-microscopical analysis, was evaluated the rotor degradation cause of NiCrMoV steel.
