Using the finite element method (FEM) microstructure changes in material after deformation were simulated. Deformation was applied into the material in the following ways: the ECAP method and ECAP with partial back pressure, ECAP-PBP. It was shown that the partial back pressure application contributes significantly to homogenous deformation distribution across the cross section of the sample in comparison with the conventional ECAP process. Back pressure application, among others, suggested significant decrease of tensile stresses behind the channel bending. The conclusion is focused on comparison of those processing methods influence on the material.
